Phin de Louisiane, a new Vietnamese-inspired coffee shop, is coming soon to 3204 East Milton Avenue in Youngsville, Louisiana, next door to Maison Dental Studio and Whataburger.

The new 1500-square-foot café will specialize in Vietnamese coffee and pastries, including traditional phin drip coffee, Vietnamese iced coffee, matcha drinks, and other Vietnamese-inspired items.

Founded by Khanh “Katie” Pham, Phin de Louisiane reflects the concept’s identity and inspiration to their culture and to the Acadiana region, combining both cultural influences together. “Phin” refers to the traditional Vietnamese coffee filter known for its slow brewing process, while “de Louisiane” associates the brand to Louisiana culture and heritage.

The business evolved from Katie Brewhouse, a coffee concept that Katie first launched during the COVID pandemic. Built through pop-ups, community events, and grassroots support, the brand developed a following through its specialty Vietnamese coffee and continued local presence at festivals and markets.

Following the birth of their child and a move from California back home to Louisiana, the owners saw an opportunity to reshape the business into something more deeply connected to both family and culture, leading to the creation of Phin de Louisiane.

“Phin de Louisiane represents more than coffee—it represents where we come from and where we’re going,” said Katie. “It’s about honoring Vietnamese tradition while building something meaningful here in Louisiana, surrounded by family and community.”

According to the owners, Youngsville felt like a natural fit to open their business due to the area’s continued growth, strong support for small businesses, and appreciation for food and cultural experiences. The concept also leans into the theme “From Saigon to the Bayou,” emphasizing the connection between Vietnamese heritage and South Louisiana culture.

Phin de Louisiane has already started building a local presence through community events, cultural festivals, and pop-ups, where its signature Vietnamese iced coffee and matcha drinks have gained popularity with local customers.

Once open, the storefront is intended to be more than just a coffee shop, the owners envision the space as a gathering place where culture, family, and community can come together through coffee and conversation.

Construction is underway with a tentative opening date for September 2026.
