Empire Wingz will officially open its new Lafayette location on Saturday, March 28, at 12 PM at 1521 Ambassador Caffery Parkway.
Founded by Vic Smith, Empire Wingz began in Baton Rouge more than a decade ago, first gaining traction through a non-traditional start serving wings in a nightclub setting before growing into a standalone restaurant concept. Over time, the brand built a strong following near Southern University and has since expanded into multiple locations across East Baton Rouge Parish.
The Lafayette location, next door to La Chapina & La Catraccha Mexican Food, was selected intentionally. The owners noted that Empire Wingz locations typically generate strong customer traffic and anticipate that the new site will contribute to increased visibility and activity for surrounding businesses along the Ambassador Caffery corridor.
Empire Wingz is best known for its chicken wings, offered in a wide range of signature flavors including the O.G. Redipped—a buffalo-style wing re-dipped for added flavor— along with Cajun Ajun, Dry Ranch, and Cajun Dry Rub topped with the brand’s signature “Antidote” seasoning. The menu also features boneless wings, “VJ” fries, and combo meals.
We recently had the chance to try the wings at the new Lafayette location (video proof on socials), and wow! The flavors, the sauce, and the textures are all hitting!
As the 8th location, the new Empire Wingz restaurant includes self-serve ordering stations, allowing customers to place orders directly and move through the process more efficiently. The setup is designed to support fast service, especially during peak hours.
Overall, the concept is centered on three core elements: the chicken, the quality, and the speed of service.
