Back in August of 2024, we reported on a pair of new Hilton-brand hotels coming to the corner of Willow Street and Ambassador Caffery Parkway near I-10.

The project includes a new 4-story, 95-room Home2 Suites at 2131 W Willow Street and a new 4-story, 80-room Hampton Inn & Suites hotel at 2146 W Willow Street, located directly across from one another. Since that initial post, both projects have made steady progress, and the site now looks significantly different from when construction first began.
Home2 Suites by Hilton
The new Home2 Suites is now in its final stages of development. Designed as an extended-stay hotel, the rooms are planned with kitchenettes that include a full-size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and basic cookware, along with a small living area and sofa bed for a more apartment-like feel. Exterior work is essentially complete, and construction has shifted almost entirely to interior finishes, furnishings, and branding installation. At the current pace, the 95-room Home2 Suites is expected to open within the next month or so.
Across the street, the new 4-story, 80-room Hampton Inn & Suites project is a little over halfway completed, with much of the exterior façade still being built out. Interior work is ongoing as crews frame rooms and continue mechanical and electrical installation. Based on current progress, the hotel is projected to be finished in roughly 3 to 5 months.
Once completed, the existing Hampton Inn & Suites will be converted into a sister brand, Spark, from the Hilton brand.
Hampton Inn & Suites
I love a good hotel. I also love the Hilton brand of hotels. It’s exciting to see increased hotel spaces along the I-10 corridor. Maybe one day we can get a large, full service hotel with multiple large convention spaces. We do have the Double Tree by Hilton, which is pretty close to that vibe. I do love my warm doubletree cookie.
