The $19 million project includes more than 31,000 square feet of new space—17,200 square feet dedicated to orthopedic services and another 14,000 square feet for physical therapy and sports performance. The goal is to bring surgery, therapy, and training together in one place for a more streamlined care experience.

New features include 18 additional exam rooms, two triage rooms, four private physical therapy suites, advanced radiology and treatment areas, and a dedicated space for hand therapy. A sports performance area includes professional-grade turf, training surfaces, and high-end workout equipment.
The institute is staffed by 11 board-certified orthopedic surgeons and fellowship-trained sports medicine physicians, and supported by a team of 69 therapy clinicians. It also supports local student-athletes through a network of 38 athletic trainers serving more than 8,000 students across Acadiana schools.

“This investment strengthens our commitment to advancing healthcare and ensures patients, athletes and families have access to the best in orthopedic and sports medicine care for generations to come,” said Patrick Gandy, CEO of Ochsner Lafayette General.
The facility is designed to serve a wide range of patients, from joint replacement candidates to active athletes recovering from injury or working on performance goals.
