Dumpling Hour, a locally owned Chinese restaurant known for its handmade dumplings and authentic Szechuan dishes, is expanding to Youngsville at 1911 Chemin Metairie Parkway, Suite 3.
This will be the second location for Dumpling Hour, following the success of its original Lafayette restaurant, which opened about a year ago at 3535 Ambassador Caffery. The Youngsville space sits between RoWe & Co Play Studio and The Gift Pod, both of which opened earlier this year.
Locally founded, Dumpling Hour was created to bring authentic Chinese comfort food to the Lafayette area. The menu features a variety of freshly made dumplings, including Xiao Long Bao soup dumplings, pan-fried pork buns, fried wontons, and vegetable dumplings. Other highlights include green onion pancakes, spicy beef buns, and classic entrees like Kung Pao Chicken, Orange Chicken, and Chef Su’s Spicy Beef.

The restaurant also offers traditional Chinese soups, fried rice, chow mein, and a full selection of milk teas, fruit teas, and smoothies. Vegetarian options are available across several categories.
Dumpling Hour offers dine-in service in a cozy, sit-down setting. The space features a visible prep area where guests can watch chefs handcraft dumplings daily. Traditional Chinese decor and a warm layout help create a welcoming, relaxed atmosphere.
An official opening date has not been announced, but the restaurant is tentatively scheduled to open in August.
