LUS Fiber, the nation’s first municipally owned fiber-optic network, is expanding into Downtown Lafayette by leasing the top two floors of the former Lemoine Company Headquarters located at 214 Jefferson St. This space was previously leased by the now defunct tech gem, Waitr (ASAP), which went belly up.

This expansion, coordinated by Scout Real Estate Co., Mayor-President Monique Boulet, and LUS Fiber Director Michael Soileau, is expected to enhance the city’s technological infrastructure and foster economic growth for the future of the city. Let’s be so for real though, they just wanted a cool techie space in Downtown Lafayette.

The presence of LUS Fiber is expected to attract businesses and investments, aligning with Lafayette’s vision for a thriving, technology-driven downtown space. Additionally, the Louisiana Physical Therapy Board has leased part of the first floor, while 6,300 square feet of prime ground-floor space is still available for lease.
According to our friends at Scout Real Estate Co., the entire building is listed for sale, presenting an attractive opportunity for investors. With LUS Fiber as a key tenant, the property holds significant long-term value and economic potential.
