MOOD Social & Dating, a new Lafayette-based startup has officially launched its signature dating app on iOS and Android platforms.
Through the app, the new startup offers a mood-based approach to online dating, which makes it more personalized and meaningful. By redefining digital dating, MOOD allows users to connect based on their current mood. The name says it all, really. The app offers 15 unique mood categories, such as ‘Just Friends,’ ‘Long-term Relationship’ and ‘420 Friends,’ to name a few.
Dating is a pain today more than ever. MOOD is addressing traditional dating app frustrations by ensuring alignment between users’ desires and their prospective matches. The app has features like mood selection, offer-counter, and icebreaker games that make the connection process more personalized, engaging, and reflective of individual preferences.
“My frustrations with dating apps birthed this idea over the past two years,” said MOOD Founder Tim A. As online dating has become the primary gateway for most relationships, it has become increasingly difficult to sift through profiles that appear to be too perfect. Even if you happen to stumble across a potential match, there are many other variables to consider, such as unclear intentions, being ghosted or left on read, and even worse, being catfished! If you’re not familiar with these terms, you can easily look them up. Although there isn’t a guaranteed way to prevent most of these scenarios from happening, we can at least get closer to understanding the vibe or the “mood” of a potential date.
