In September of 2019, we shared that the Krotz Springs-based meat market, Kartchner’s Grocery & Specialty Meats, would be expanding into Scott, LA with a new location, located at 312 Hwy 93, next door to La Rumba.
Back then, all you could see was a piece of land with a little bit of dirt work—not a lot to see there. However, there has been a ton of progress and the building is taking shape.
The new 6,000 sq ft Scott location will offer around 9 different types of boudin, 20+ different sausages, and over 140 different specialty meats. It appears to also have a nice sized patio space where patrons may enjoy some fresh product and hopefully some nice weather.
The construction is moving ahead quickly, even throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, as are most other construction projects.
We are estimating a conservative completion date of late Summer.
