Two new hotel construction projects are underway at the corner of Ambassador Caffery and W Willow Street near I-10 in Lafayette, LA. The hotels include a new 4-story, 95-room Home2 Suites, located at 2131 W Willow Street, and a new 4-story, 80-room Hampton Inn & Suites, located directly across from Home2 Suites at 2146 W Willow Street.

Both of these mid-sized Hilton brand hotels have roughly the same amount of rooms, the same 4-story design, and around about the same square footage as each other apart from the unit sizes. The only real differentiator is that Home2 Suites is designed for longer, extended-stay accommodations that feature kitchenettes, including a full-size refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and some cookware. The rooms also have a living area with a sofa bed, making them more spacious and apartment-like. Hampton Inn & Suites is designed for short stays and your more traditional hotel experience when traveling.

Now, you may be asking yourself(maybe not), “Isn’t there already a Hampton right there? Why yes, yes there is, but this new Hampton Inn & Suites will inevitably replace the older version for an up-to-date, modern hotel experience.
When it comes to hotels, many of us are picky about where we stay. Staying competitive as a hotel owner is crucial with time as hotel guests’ needs are always changing. Remember motels? You know, the ones with the doors on the outside of the building? Those motels were super common in the 1900s due to the road trip style of travel. The word “Motel” is derived from the words “Motor” and “Hotel”.
Tentative completion dates have not been released, so we are fully guessing here but, we expect to see the completion of these two hotels by early 2025.
