A new Downtown Lafayette business, called The Alley Downtown, is coming soon to 537 Jefferson Street where the former Wurst Biergarten was located.
Founded by local business owners, Mariam & Haky Alrefaey, and their partners, Rene & Amy Larriviere, The Alley Downtown will transform the former Beer Garden into a lively and family-friendly space. The layout includes a bar in the front and a refreshed back area that will feature three rotating food trucks and a live music space. The space will offer a selection of beer, wine, and signature rotating cocktails with food served from the hosted food trucks. The owners are committed to creating a casual yet vibrant atmosphere in Downtown Lafayette.
“We want to invest in the vibrancy of Downtown Lafayette by creating a space that supports local businesses like the food trucks, showcases talented musicians, and brings people together for great food, drinks, and a good time,” said Mariam.
The space is undergoing many updates, including the construction of new decks, additional seating, and a refreshed aesthetic.
“Our hope is that The Alley becomes a gathering place that reflects the heart and energy of this amazing city,” said Alrefaey. “This is more than a business — it’s a celebration of Lafayette, its people, and the connections that bring us closer.”
The Alley Downtown is tentatively set to open by the end of January.
