Roul’s Deli, the Baton Rouge-based restaurant brand best known for its signature “Juicy Juicy” ½-pound burgers, is expanding into Lafayette with a new location coming soon to 2201 Johnston Street, across from Izzo’s and near the UL Lafayette campus.
The news of Roul’s Deli possibly coming to Lafayette has been stirring for the past year after a quick post on their social media showing a familiar Lafayette intersection went locally viral. After we were tagged in that post multiple times, we stayed in touch with the owners of Roul’s Deli as they continued scouting potential locations around the city. Now it’s official!
Founded in 1999, Roul’s Deli has built a loyal following across south Louisiana with a focus on fresh, never-frozen 100 percent USDA All-American beef grilled to order. The family-owned company, led by Sara and Hesham, operates multiple restaurants in Baton Rouge, Gonzales, and Shreveport.

The Lafayette restaurant will be a ground-up build designed to reflect the brand’s casual dining style and recognizable menu lineup. Guests can expect the same favorites that helped define Roul’s reputation, including the Roul Burger, Bacon Cheeseburger, Shrimp Burger, and the fully loaded LOLO Burger stacked with chicken, shrimp, steak, and bacon. Additionally, well-known staples like the Crawfish Eggrolls and Double Shrimp Burger with Bacon will also make their way to Lafayette, alongside a wide range of burgers such as the Jalapeño Burger, Avocado Burger, Mushroom Swiss Burger, and the Triple Burger for those with a bigger mot. Not a burger nerd? The menu also features Gyro and Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches, po’boys, chicken and seafood plates, and their popular loaded fries topped with options like crawfish, shrimp, or Philly steak.
Roul’s Deli’s slogan, “Home of the ‘Juicy Juicy’ Burger,” continues to represent its focus on quality ingredients, community connection, and a consistent dining experience that’s both casual and satisfying.
Construction on the Lafayette location is tentatively scheduled to begin in early 2026 at 2201 Johnston Street. The construction timelines as per typical commercial construction goes is expected to last between 6 – 7 months, but like many projects that’s all estimates.
