A new Italian restaurant, Roncalli, is coming soon to the S. College Center at 2815 Johnston Street in Lafayette, next door to Raffaele’s.
Details are limited as of now. We do know that the new concept is owned by Raffaele Raimondi, who also owns Raffaele’s. He says that the new restaurant is designed to offer Lafayette an elevated, authentically Italian dining experience.

Raimondi says his goal is to create “an unusual, special place to take you to Italy within Lafayette,” noting that true appreciation often begins with exposure. “If you don’t expose people to better things, how do you expect them to develop a liking for it?” he shared that someone once told him.
Originally from Italy, Raimondi’s passions for both food and fashion have influenced his work in Lafayette for decades. As a longtime furrier, established locally in 1979, he’s no stranger to taking risks or pursuing ideas that fall outside the norm.
More details will be disclosed in the coming weeks as we get them.
