Pop-A-Licious, a popular gourmet popcorn business, is relocating to Downtown Lafayette at 415 Lee Street, next door to the newly opened Hideaway Kitchen on Lee.
Formerly located in the Acadiana Mall, Pop-A-Licious Gourmet Popcorn creates a variety of flavored popcorns ranging from cotton candy, fruity pebbles, chocolate & caramel to sour cream & chive, crawfish boil, and even dill pickle.
Justin Cormier, the owner of Pop-A-Licious, states that many of the ideas that he wants to implement into his concept just would not work in a mall setting. After briefly scouting for a new location in which to relocate, Justin stumbled upon a nice little storefront at the corner of Lee Street & Vermilion, across from the now-closed Don’s.
We already did some festivals and Downtown Alive events and I love the vibe and culture down there.
“We will still have all of our popcorn flavors, but to expand on that we will offer Crafted Kernel Parties.” Similar to other group DIY parties, “groups will be able to come in, create various flavors, fill a popcorn tin, and then even decorate the tin.”
In addition to all of the goodness that is gourmet popcorn, Pop-A-Licious will also be adding food items like gourmet nachos, hot dogs, frito pies, and milk shakes. Justin says that the menu has not been finalized fully as of yet, but says that it will be complimentary to the gourmet popcorn.
A tentative opening date is aimed for next week or so.
