The new Our Saviors Church – Midtown is still in the works at Johnston & Marie Antoinette Street. However, if you’re wondering what happened to Emmanual Baptist Church, it was acquired by Our Saviors Church in April of this year. I won’t go into detail, but below is a quote from the Midtown email source. See older post (here).
In recent months, between our three local campuses (Broussard, Lafayette, and Opelousas), we have been averaging over 6,000 people each weekend in attendance. In April of this year, we were able to acquire the Emmanuel Baptist Church building located at the corner of Johnston St. and Marie Antoinette, right in the heart of Lafayette. We have had teams of incredible volunteers serving over the course of the last several weeks doing work in the 36,000 square foot facility (which seats about 800 people), to get it ready to begin hosting multiple weekend services later this fall. The Midtown Campus will be overseen by Pastor Jacob Aranza (as are all of our churches), and the Pastor will be Pastor Nick Carroll, who currently pastors at the Lafayette Campus, located at 1201 E Broussard Road, as well.
