A new location for Matthew Courville’s taxidermy studio will soon open in January at 3829 Northwest Evangeline Thruway in Carencro. Taxidermy is the art of preparing, stuffing & mounting the skins of animals(wiki). Many hunters use this service to memorialize a particular hunt that was significant to them. You can taxi’ just about anything, but the most popular are deer, fish, squirrel, duck, and select wild game. I grew up in the country where nearly everyone had at least one mounted animal, but as for me, I’ll leave that to you hunters & fisherman. We can’t sleep with all of those eyes on us now, haha. I think the process is interesting and do appreciate the art of it all. For more info on Matthew Courville’s Taxidermy, see their Facebook page.
