New Rooftop Bar, Restaurant & Pickleball Concept Coming Soon to Former Lafayette Health Club Site

on

A new restaurant and pickleball-focused entertainment concept with a rooftop bar is coming soon to the former Lafayette Health Club property at 2905 Kaliste Saloom Road in Lafayette.

The Lafayette Health Club has been closed for more than 15 years, despite its prominent frontage along Kaliste Saloom Road. Over time, the long-vacant property deteriorated and became one of the area’s more visible redevelopment opportunities.

In 2022, early demolition activity took place at the site, including the removal and filling of the former outdoor swimming pool. The existing tennis courts have remained intact and are now planned to be converted into pickleball courts as part of the redevelopment.

The property was recently acquired by Chase Group Construction, led by Chase Landry, with the intent of restoring activity to a site that once served as a major community gathering place. Landry noted that the condition of the property and its history in the community played a key role in the decision to move forward with the project.

“For more than a decade, the former Lafayette Health Club sat vacant and deteriorating,” Landry said. “It became an eyesore for the community and, unfortunately, a place that no longer reflected the pride Lafayette has in itself. A lot of people in this city have memories here—families, friends, and generations who once gathered at this location when it was a vibrant, active space.”

Plans for the redevelopment include a full-service restaurant, a rooftop bar, pickleball facilities, and additional fitness-based tenants. According to Landry, the goal is to respect the site’s original purpose while adapting it to how people gather and stay active today.

“This site isn’t just another development—it’s an opportunity to restore life to a location that meant something to Lafayette for many years,” Landry said. “Our vision is to bring something truly special back to this area… something that pays homage to the site’s original purpose while fitting how people live, gather, and stay active today.”

Landry added that the project aligns with current growth patterns in Lafayette, particularly developments centered around shared experiences and community engagement.

“More importantly, it’s about creating a place where families, friends, and neighbors can come together again—just like they did here years ago,” he said. “We’re proud to be part of bringing this property back to life and excited about what it will mean for Lafayette—not just economically, but socially and culturally as well.”

At this time, no construction timeline, tenant announcements, or opening dates have been released. Additional details are expected as redevelopment planning continues.
