New Market Coming Soon near Ambassador Caffery & Dulles Drive

on

A new, likely Hispanic grocery market is coming soon to 2400 Ambassador Caffery, inside the former Aaron’s Rent-to-Own space near the intersection of Ambassador and Dulles Drive.

Permit filings point to two potential names for the upcoming business—Fiesta Latina Market and Big Boy Market—though the official name has not yet been confirmed. The name Big Boy Market is on Alcohol permits, which could signal a more plausible name. I don’t know… we shall see. I’m thinking that’s the name.

The roughly 7,000-square-foot space has been undergoing visible interior work for a couple of weeks or more, with crews present on both weekdays and weekends. The building sits next door to the recently opened Morain Coffee Co., a locally-owned café that transformed the former KFC/Hardee’s building into a sleek coffee spot.

This stretch of Ambassador is known for its growing Mexican-American and Hispanic community. Within just a few blocks, you’ll find a collection of Hispanic-owned markets, restaurants, food trucks, and businesses that reflect the culture and flavors of the area.

The new market is expected offer groceries and goods tailored to the surrounding community. And while full details are still unknown, the size and location suggest a well-stocked neighborhood market.

No official opening date has been announced, but judging by the pace of construction, the market could open within the next couple of months.
