The former Antlers Steakhouse, located at 200 Heritage Pkwy in Broussard, LA, will soon become a new local restaurant, called Misfits.
Misfits is inspired by the eclectic workforce that is the restaurant industry. Youngsville natives and founders Sandra Lege, her brother Buddy and his wife Madonna Brasseaux have years of restaurant experience between them. They are bringing in local talent from around the parish to offer the surrounding community a spin on traditional Cajun and Italian cuisine that goes outside of the lines drawn by tradition—like a misfit.
Family friend and General Manager of Misfits, Michelle Garrett, will guide the new restaurant as they introduce themselves to the community. They’ll start off with some traditional dishes like pizza, pasta, and house-made marsala to warm up but plan to introduce flavors that you may not expect. Dishes like Tuna Surprise (said in French) and Grilled Chicken Salad with a house-made Honey Mustard Bourbon Bacon dressing, mais yeah! There are many other surprises that will come out of this venture, but I am in no place to spill beans. You’ll just need to visit when they open.
The former restaurant, Antlers Steakhouse, featured a large outdoor patio. The patio appears to be staying, which may be a good move considering pandemic measures. You never know when your restaurant will only be accessible to customers via an outdoor patio.
The crew at Misfits are working hard to prepare the restaurant for an early June 2020 opening.
