New Fat Pat’s Kitchen (FPK) Coming Soon to Lafayette

on

A new Fat Pat’s Kitchen (FPK) restaurant and bar is coming soon to 6004 Johnston Street in Lafayette, near the Johnston Street and Duhon Road intersection, across from the Southside Regional Library.

According to public records, the project will include a restaurant space along with an additional portion of the building designated as a white box for a future tenant. The contractor listed on the records is Chase Group Construction. While Chase Group Construction is a local sponsor of Developing Lafayette, no additional information was available regarding the project’s size, exterior appearance, interior layout, or the branding shift from Fat Pat’s to Fat Pat’s Kitchen.

A review of Secretary of State filings shows the LLC associated with Fat Pat’s Kitchen is MACA Investment Group, L.L.C., which is registered out of Baton Rouge under Mitch Rotolo, founder of Rotolo’s Pizzeria. The timing of the LLC update closely aligns with the company’s recent use of the “Fat Pat’s Kitchen” name.

All parties involved were contacted for comment, but no additional details were provided beyond what is available through public records.

The Rotolo name being linked to the Fat Pat’s brand is interesting as the company continues to expand its footprint. Currently, Fat Pat’s Bar & Grill operates six locations across Acadiana, including four in Lafayette Parish, one in Breaux Bridge, and one in Lake Charles. If plans move forward as filed, this would represent a fifth Lafayette location.

We don’t know what this project means for expansion beyond Louisiana as that remains unclear at this time. As always, Developing Lafayette will continue to monitor the project and provide updates as more information becomes available.

We’ve always been fans of the Fat Pat’s brand, but the elimination of the Festival Burger still stings—but we’re managing.
