The Pentecostals of Lafayette(TPOL), located at 6214 Johnston Street, recently broke ground on a new educational expansion project.
TPOL, also my home church, started pledging donations for the expansion over three years ago(Late 2015). Member pledges are still ongoing as the local church plans to build out a new, larger capacity sanctuary in the near future; converting the existing sanctuary into a basketball gymnasium.
For years, the church’s water supply has been well water, due to the city’s water-main stopping right before the property. With this new expansion, the church and the city are working together on a reimbursement plan that would allow the church to be provided with city water. This would also extend the water-main further down Johnston Street.
The expansion will consist of renovations to their existing building and construction of a new educational wing, which will include a larger kitchen, increased storage, a mother’s room, seven additional classrooms, office spaces, conference room, kids church, and a meeting room.
No tentative completion date has been set as of yet.
