KOK Wings and Things is expanding their Lafayette footprint with a new location going into the former Hooters building at 3221 Ambassador Caffery Parkway. This move for KOK will make for its sixth location across the state.
The building, formerly home to Hooters, already includes a layout built for high-volume kitchen operations. KOK will keep the existing kitchen configuration and rework the front of the space into a fast casual setup with counter service. While entertainment features could be added in the future, the immediate focus will be on food quality and service—emphasizing speed, efficiency, and consistency.
Current Interior
Founded in 2016 by four UL Lafayette students—Corey McCoy, CEO; Jared Johnson, CFO; Avery Bell, COO; and Tre’Jan Vinson, CMO—KOK began as a plate-based side hustle before evolving into a growing regional brand. The company now operates multiple locations, runs several food trucks, and has partnered with venues like LSU’s Tiger Stadium, UL Lafayette’s Cajun Field, and major events in New Orleans.
KOK is known for its signature wings and house-made sauces, including the fan-favorite “Sumnasty Sauce.” All recipes are created in-house with no outside flavor sources, keeping preparation consistent across all locations.

As part of the Lafayette expansion, KOK plans to strengthen its presence in the community through partnerships with schools, youth programs, and education-based organizations throughout the south side. They’ll also continue building on relationships with UL Lafayette and other local groups.
KOK has served over five million wings and donated more than $200,000 to local causes. The company now employs over 60 people across its locations.
The new Lafayette location is tentatively set to open in late 2025. For those looking to try it out, the EatKOK food truck will soon be parked at the new location.
