It’s Official: Buc-ee’s Travel Center Coming Soon To Lafayette, Louisiana

on

It’s officially official, y’all! Buc-ee’s is coming soon to the corner of Louisiana Avenue & I-10 in Lafayette, Louisiana.

According to plans provided to us in August of this year, the Buc-ee’s in Lafayette will be 75,000 square feet, making it one of the largest locations of its kind in the Gulf South. This size surpasses the locations in Baytown, TX, and Foley, AL, which are at or under 60,000 square feet. The Lafayette location may even be larger than the new Buc-ee’s set to open near Gulfport, MS, which is reported to be just over 70,000 square feet.

The Plans

Located just off Buc-ee’s Boulevard, the new Lafayette Buc-ee’s will not only be one of the largest stores in the South but will also feature an extensive fueling station with 120 pumps covered by three separate canopies. This station will provide over 60,000 square feet of coverage, perfect for travelers. Additionally, the travel center plans to expand to include electric vehicle charging stations, along with the iconic Buc-ee Beaver statue for those impromptu road trip photos!

We really shouldn’t have to explain Buc-ee’s at this point but, for sake of those living under a rock, Buc-ee’s is a 24-hour road trip destination behemoth. Featuring some of the best gas prices, the best snacks, and the absolute BEST restrooms on God’s green-ish Earth, it’s no surprise that this travel center brand has come up so big and so fast. It really is more than just a pitstop, it’s a part of many family’s itinerary when going on vacation. And with so many new Buc-ee’s locations being constructed at or between major vacation destinations in the US, the company will undoubtedly continue to grow.

There is one thing that makes this particular location of Buc-ee’s just a little unique when compared to most other locations around the US. And that is this Buc-ee’s will be one of the very few locations to where the front of the store does not face the major highway. According to provided plans, pending that nothing has changed, this Buc-ee’s will face North effectively putting the backside of Buc-ee’s on full display to I-10 travelers. However, even though this may be the case, considering how clean their restrooms are, we know for a fact that their backside is going to look fresh-to-death.

When it comes to how the new Buc-ee’s will affect the local area, especially the Northside of Lafayette, the key thing to keep in mind is that Buc-ee’s pays, bebe! With entry-level jobs starting at about $20/hr, this development will create hundreds of well paying jobs, boosting the local economy and serving as a catalyst for more aggressive development growth & infrastructure improvements. This is good for Lafayette!

Construction for Buc-ee’s of Lafayette is expected to begin in 2025 with an expected completion date sometime in 2026.
