Smash Pickleball restaurant, located at 2822 Bonin Road in Youngsville, Louisiana, is officially opening this week.
This past Saturday night, March 7, we attended the soft launch of Smash. The concept centers around the growing popularity of pickleball, offering guests a place to dine, enjoy drinks, and watch games taking place just outside. Kinda like TopGolf, if you’ve ever been there.

Inside, Smash features a warm, modern interior with wood textures, lots of blue hue tones, and lounge-style seating mixed with tables and booths. Several areas include couch seating with small tables.
Outside, the property includes a turf-covered area with multiple covered dining spaces beneath a convertible pergola system. The pergola panels can close during rain and open during clear weather to allow sunlight while maintaining shade. The outdoor dining area sits adjacent to the pickleball courts, allowing guests to watch games while eating & drinking.
A fenced-in children’s play area with turf and small obstacle-style features is also located within the outdoor space. Nearby, a small raised platform provides space for live entertainment such as solo musicians or small acoustic acts. Additionally, there are Several TVs are positioned throughout the venue inside and out.
At the time of the soft launch, the pickleball courts were not yet open as crews complete the final surface installation. The restaurant and bar were fully operational. According to management the pickleball courts will be completed by Sunday, following this post.
Vacay Mode to left to left
The menu focuses on shareable dishes, handhelds, and loaded tater tots. Shareable items include Dirty Queso topped with Best Stop boudin, Basic “B” Hummus with feta, cucumber, tomato, and olives, Truffle Fries, Sweet Heat Brussels, and Ahi Crunch Nachos with chili-glazed tuna, mango, and kimchi mayo.
We tried the Basic “B” hummus, the truffle fries, and the Brussels. And all of it was good! Our favorite though was the hummus!

The menu features a section dedicated to loaded tater tots including options such as Backyard Brawl with queso, cheddar, and chili, Cajun Chaos featuring Best Stop boudin and pepper jelly, Mountain Melt with brisket and queso, and K-BBQ Riot tossed in gochujang with kimchi mayo.
Handheld items include several sliders and wraps such as The OG Smash Slider, Firebird Slider, Seoul Burn Slider, Santorini Chicken Wrap, and Bang Bang Shrimp Wrap. During the soft launch, we tried the Santorini Chicken Wrap, which includes grilled chicken, butter lettuce, feta, tomato, pickled red onion, and tzatziki. We loved it! It was filling yet light.

The bar offers a selection of cocktails including Pretty In Pink, Vacay Mode, Agave Theory, The Rally Mule, and Botanical Babe, among others.
We tried several cocktails and my personal favorite was the Vacay Mode! It was like a piña colada but a little different. Still beachy tho.
Desserts feature cake cups from a local Youngsville bakery, Watch Me Whip, including Chocolate Chaos, Funfetti, and Strawberries-N-Cream. They also had a banana pudding one! I took that one home with me!

Smash handled a steady crowd during the soft launch with food and drinks reaching tables at a consistent pace throughout the evening. So we are confident that they will be able to handle the opening week.

The restaurant is expected to open to the public this week in Youngsville, with pickleball courts anticipated to follow once final construction is complete.
A second Smash location is also planned for Lafayette at the former Lafayette Health Club property off Kaliste Saloom Road, which is expected to include rooftop dining overlooking the courts.
