The Linden Catering & Events, formerly known as Abacus, is now open for bookings at 530 W Pinhook Road in Lafayette.
Located in a former Trappey’s soda bottling warehouse dating back to the 1940s, The Linden spans an estimated 9,000 square feet. The space includes a main ballroom, side room, and full commercial kitchen, and is thoughtfully arranged to support multiple events simultaneously. An upstairs bridal suite offers a private retreat, with new office space currently in progress.

Upstairs Bridal Suite Underway

The name “The Linden” is inspired by the linden tree, also known as basswood, which is historically tied to the area’s name “Pinhook.” Known for its heart-shaped leaves and symbolism of peace and connection, the tree reflects the venue’s mission to host meaningful, memorable events rooted in the local community.
The venue features an industrial aesthetic with exposed brick, original piping, and an open layout. The kitchen has been remodeled to serve as the central hub for both in-house and off-site catering operations. Event offerings include inclusive packages with up to 10 tables, linens, and 100 chairs, with additional items available upon request. The layout is highly flexible, making it ideal for everything from intimate gatherings of 40 to larger celebrations of up to 350 guests.

Main Ballroom

The Linden is operated by the group behind several well-known local businesses, including The Jefferson in downtown Lafayette, The Wolff in Washington (St. Landry Parish), and L’Eglise in Vermilion Parish. They also own the popular Bon Temps Grill and the live music and dining venue Whiskey & Vine. Their combined experience spans both event operations and full-service hospitality.
“We’re honored to carry on the legacy of the space,” says owner Patrick O’Bryan. “This building has hosted generations of love and laughter, and we’re excited to continue offering a venue that feels both timeless and tailor-made for life’s most beloved moments.”

Additional Venue Space
Their catering services currently support 30 to 40 venues across Acadiana. They were recently awarded the premium catering contract for UL Lafayette’s Our Lady of Lourdes Stadium, providing food and bar service for the McElligott Club and suites, which serve around 1,300 premium guests each game.
Construction began about a month ago, and the first event is scheduled for June 27. The Linden is already accepting bookings and can host events immediately.
