Central Pizza & Bar, well-known in downtown Lafayette for its wood-fired pizzas and relaxed vibes, is expanding with a second location coming soon to 1581 S Bernard Road in Broussard, Louisiana.
The new location will take over the former Market Eatz building, which closed its doors in late 2024. Market Eatz of Lafayette is remains open at 819 E Broussard Road: https://www.marketeatz.com/.
This expansion will bring Central Pizza’s well-loved menu—designed by well-known local chef Collin Cormier, best known for Viva La Waffle and Pop’s Poboys—to the Southside of Lafayette Parish in the fast-growing Broussard area.

Central Pizza’s menu features standout items like the “Smoke Show” pizza with Rabideaux’s sausage, pineapple, smoked chicken thighs, and pickled jalapeños, and our favorite—the Paulie, topped with pepperoni, jalapeños, and a drizzle of honey. They also serve a variety of their pizzas by the slice, which is so cool for those wanting a pizza without the whole pizza. The Central Dip with leek, bacon, and parmesan, served with wood-fired pita, is another solid go-to. Each pizza is cooked fast in a brick oven heated to over 700°F using pecan wood, giving every pie that signature crispy, smoky finish.
Since opening on Jefferson Street in early 2018, Central has tossed up a strong name for itself by pairing solid food with a casual but refined setting, complete with a full bar, private dining space, and a strong cocktail game. Their team puts care into everything, from the ingredients to the atmosphere.
No official opening date has been announced just yet for the Broussard location, but renovations are underway and anticipation is building.
