LAFAYETTE, LA – When Acadiana Cares CEO Claude Martin, MS, noticed that Pride Plaza, a medical office building developed in 1979 by Dr. Ernest Kinchen, Dr. J. Cedric Dauphin, Dr. Clinton Young and Dr. Raphael Baranco, was available for purchase, he knew it just made sense for Acadiana Cares to continue the pioneering spirit the facility embodied.
Pride Plaza was one of the first multi-specialty medical facilities on Lafayette’s north side, reaching an underserved community. Following in the footsteps of those trailblazing physicians, the nonprofit organization will expand its primary care services for those faced with inequities in healthcare, into the 9,000 square foot space by the end of the year.
Acadiana Cares has worked since 1985 to provide medical and social services to another underserved community – those diagnosed with HIV/AIDS.
