This is not a “development”, but perhaps one of the coolest events I’ve seen headed our way. It is called Slide the City and it is a 1000 foot slip-n-slide(3 football fields) that will be laid out on one of our Lafayette streets, the slide is padded in case you were wondering. The Slide the City event will have live music, food, drinks, water, and obviously a lot more water! The event is open to the public, but you will have to pay to slide. If you go to SlidetheCity.com and click on your location you will see pricing at various levels. It is about $20 per person for a single slide trip, but if you want to make it an all day event, then it will cost you about $55. You also get some neat stuff when you sign up too, just go to their site for more details. Lafayette is on the waiting list of cities that will host the coming soon event, but other cities on the list are Shreveport, Baton Rouge and New Orleans. Dates and order of cities to host the event has not been set due to needing proper permits, but you can join the waiting list to get notified for more info when available, I did.
