Construction is taking shape on the new expansion of Center Square Shopping Center at 3500 NE Evangeline Thruway in Carencro, Louisiana, behind the recently completed Walk-On’s Sports Bistreaux.
The new construction is designed as a near duplicate of the existing portion of Center Square, which is home to Great American Cookie Company and Marble Slab Creamery, A Strand Above, Southern Style Boutique, Wingstop, Batteries Plus, Laborde Physical Therapy, and The UPS Store.
Center Square is a busy shopping center in Carencro. With the addition of Walk-On’s, traffic has become even more increased as customers try to find parking. Some guests have even resorted to parking in the grass field. We have! Paurve bete.

The new expansion will include roughly seven additional tenant spaces. The layout is expected to closely match the existing side of Center Square, including additional parking.
The added parking should provide some additional capacity once construction is complete, although parking will likely continue to be heavily used during peak lunch, dinner, and weekend hours as new tenants begin opening.
As of now, there are no confirmed tenants for the new expansion. Leasing discussions and negotiations may still be taking place, but no businesses have been formally announced.

Construction currently appears to be around 40% complete, with exterior walls and finishes beginning to take shape.
Center Square was originally planned as a multi-phase development when we first covered the project back in 2018.

Based on the current construction progress, the new portion of Center Square could be completed toward the end of 2026, with new tenants moving in for late winter or early spring.
