The former Baker’s Choice, located at 292 Ridge Road, Suite 15, is now operating as A Baker’s Paradise under the ownership of 21-year-old Lexi Landry, a longtime employee of the late owner.
The shop, originally built and operated by the late Mrs. Barbara, became a staple in the local baking community, known for its wide assortment of baking tools, pans, decorating supplies, and specialty items for home bakers and professionals alike. After Mrs. Barbara’s passing, the future of the store became uncertain.

Rather than see the store close its doors, Landry stepped forward to continue what her former mentor started.
“I had the privilege of working alongside Mrs. Barbara for six years,” Landry shared in a recent announcement. “She was not only my employer, but my mentor and someone I deeply respected. I could not imagine seeing her baking store close its doors.”
With that in mind, Landry purchased the business assets and reintroduced the store under its new name, A Baker’s Paradise, while maintaining much of what longtime customers already know and love.

While the name has changed, the store’s familiar atmosphere and faces remain.
“While the name has changed, the heart of this store remains the same — and so do the familiar faces you’ve seen for years,” Landry said. “Raegan and I will still be here, ready to help, answer questions, and continue serving our amazing baking community.”
Since taking over earlier this year, Landry and her team have been reorganizing the shop, refreshing displays, and expanding inventory with new products requested by customers. Many longtime favorites are being restocked while new baking tools and specialty items are being added to the shelves.

One new element customers will find is a classroom space for baking classes, where instructors can host small workshops teaching skills such as cookie decorating, cake pops, and other baking techniques.
In addition, the shop offers rental items such as cake pans and stands, giving bakers access to specialty equipment without needing to purchase it outright.

Landry says the goal is to continue building a welcoming space for bakers of all skill levels while honoring the legacy that made the store special in the first place.
“This is more than a rebrand — it’s a continuation of something special,” Landry said.
A Baker’s Paradise will host a Grand Opening on Saturday, March 29th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., with a ribbon cutting scheduled for 11 a.m.
