The project, aimed at modernizing the campus and accommodating future growth, involves constructing a new academic addition with 38 new classrooms, two large sets of student restrooms, and two faculty restrooms. Upon completion, this expansion will enable the school to completely eliminate all existing portable “butler” buildings, restoring the campus to a fully brick-and-mortar facility.
In addition to the new classroom space, the project will include renovations to portions of the existing campus and the creation of a new administrative area at a redesigned main entrance. The updated entrance is intended to improve campus security while also enhancing visitor access and overall circulation.

Acadiana High School is a public high school serving grades 9–12 and operates under the Lafayette Parish School System (LPSS). The school has a long-standing presence in the community, having opened in 1969 following the consolidation of Judice High School and Scott High School. Today, it is known throughout Acadiana for its strong academics and competitive athletic programs, particularly in football, basketball, and baseball.
This expansion is a significant investment in educational infrastructure in Scott and the greater Lafayette area, positioning the campus to better serve students for decades into the future.
Construction is scheduled to be completed by July 2027, with the new facilities expected to be ready for student occupancy for the start of the 2027–2028 school year.
