Xtreme Health Club is coming soon to 1800 NE Evangeline Thruway, taking over the former Planet Fitness location at the Northgate Mall in North Lafayette, Louisiana
The new locally-owned health club aims to offer a high-performance health club fitness experience with a focus on community and accessibility. It’s designed for a wide range of users—from first-time gym-goers to experienced athletes—and plans to serve over 4,000 members throughout Lafayette and surrounding areas.

Taking over the former Planet Fitness, the space is undergoing a complete renovation with an estimated $1.18 million investment in equipment and buildout. The updated facility will include areas for Pilates, boxing, MMA, indoor pickleball, group classes, and a health bar with food and drink options. The interior design features a bold red-and-black color scheme, functional layouts, and modern finishes.

Wellness amenities will include two large hot tubs—one each for men and women—a spacious cold plunge, and several outdoor features aimed at expanding the fitness experience beyond the walls of the gym.
Also worth noting, Northgate Mall will soon undergo a name change to The Hub, a nod to Lafayette’s longtime identity as the “Hub City.” The rebrand is part of ongoing efforts to revitalize the property and position it as a central point for commerce and community activity in the area. More on this to follow.
Memberships at Xtreme Health Club will start at $59.99 per month with a $99 signup fee.
Construction is underway and is said to be tentatively completed within 60 days.
