Moss BMW, a well-known company under Moss Motors in Acadiana, is making a move with a new dealership soon to open at 6652 Johnston Street, right next to the recently constructed Hyundai & Genesis dealerships that opened in 2022.
This new 33,000-square-foot Moss Motors BMW location will replace the existing 22,000-square-foot location that is currently located at 1401 Surrey Street.

At a cost of just over $10.2 million, the new Moss BMW will showcase a ’boutique hotel-style’ design aesthetic, featuring halo lighting positioned over the vehicles. This design choice aims to create a comfortable setting, complete with lounge seating throughout the showroom and custom waiting areas. Additionally, the service area will feature luxury comfort, providing climate-controlled space with 18 lifts and 2 alignment racks.
The new Moss BMW will also feature 5 DC, Level-3 fast electric charging stations throughout the facility with the capability of charging a vehicle in under 45 minutes, according to Moss Motors.

Looks like they are keeping the trees!
This decision by Moss BMW is not surprising, given the growing trend among automotive dealers to build or relocate their facilities to the area of Lafayette commonly known as Dealership Alley or Row. Not long ago, Moss Motors relocated their Mercedes dealership to this stretch of Johnston. This strategic move aims to offer in-market automotive customers a more centralized area of town for all their car shopping trips, consequently benefiting automotive dealers by creating an in-person automotive marketplace promoting greater visibility to prospective clients.
