The locally owned and operated English Animal Clinic is expanding their facilities & services with their new Lodge Pet Resort, a new veterinary owned-operated, pet boarding, daycare, and spa facility coming soon at 111 Aymar Rd, next to Walmart on Pinhook Road in Lafayette, Louisiana.
Dr. Natalie Cormier, a graduate of the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine class of 2016, joined the English Animal Clinic team in 2018 while working as a relief veterinarian at other clinics. In 2021, Dr. Cormier achieved her lifelong dream of becoming a local business owner by acquiring the English Animal Clinic. With an eye for opportunity, she soon realized the empty lot next door would be the perfect spot to expand her services and provide top-notch boarding and daycare for her furry patients.
After a year of research, planning, and designing the ideal facility with her husband Ryan, construction is now underway. “We have always wanted to add boarding and daycare services for our clients so they can benefit from a one-stop shop for all their pet needs with the comfort of knowing the pets are being cared for in a veterinarian-supervised environment,” said Dr. Cormier.
The Lodge Pet Resort will feature 32 standard kennels and 16 luxury suites, including 9 large family suites for multiple dogs. Luxury kennels will feature extra space, outside window views, TVs, and webcams. Additionally, there will be cat condos for cat boarding, enrichment-based daycare services, four spacious outdoor play yards, covered and cooled play areas with K9Grass® designed specifically for dogs, spa services, a grooming salon, and curbside pickup and drop-off.
“My husband, Ryan, teamed up with Chase Group Construction and they designed everything with the highest standards for safety and cleanliness in mind.”
Vet-owned and operated boarding and daycare facilities are important for many pet owners because they provide a safe and supervised environment for pets while their owners are away. These facilities are staffed by trained and licensed veterinarians, who are able to provide on-site medical care and attention to any pet that may need it. Additionally, vet-owned and operated facilities often have stricter standards for cleanliness and safety, which can provide peace of mind for pet owners.
The Lodge Pet Resort is tentatively set to open this year, 2023, at the start of Summer.
