There is an old building located at 311 Eighth Street off the Evangeline Thruway that appears to have been constructed around the 70’s timeframe.
Recently, a good bit of construction work has been seen at this location, with little known as to what is actually happening. So we did what we knew to do, research records. But the records didn’t really give us a name, but it did give us a potential contact. After making a call to the owner of the building/business, Mike Placek, we learned that it will soon be a flooring outlet, called Lafayette Flooring Outlet.
The Lafayette Flooring Outlet will offer everything anyone would need to repair, change or to lay down new flooring. They will offer several different materials, brands, and the tools & equipment to install the flooring.
According to Mike, back in the late 70’s this building was a Yamaha Motorcycle Shop, called Doucet Yamaha.
